Introduction to Wet and Dry Felting

At our introduction to wet and dry felting workshop at Heartfelt Ways Centre, ladies have departed with several items of flat felt each having tried wet felting and dry needle felting with both hand felting needles and the embellisher.

Beautiful results that I think will be added to over the next few weeks. I have been promised a coffee morning to share the results once they have added things to them.

Extra special event as well as being my first felting workshop was also a birthday celebration for one lady. thanks for the chocolate cake.

The Art of Felting

The introduction to wet and dry felting at our workshop considers felting as an art that offers a unique array of benefits that appeal to both artists and crafters alike. One of the key advantages is its versatility, allowing for the creation of a wide range of items including clothing, accessories, home decor, and sculptures.

The textural appeal of felted objects, with their soft and fuzzy texture, adds visual and tactile interest. Felting is also eco-friendly, often utilizing renewable wool fibers that are biodegradable. Beyond its practical attributes, felting fosters artistic expression and creativity, enabling artists to experiment with colors, patterns, and forms.

The process of felting can also be therapeutic and relaxing, offering a meditative experience while working with fibers.

Overall, felting combines functionality with artistic exploration, making it a rewarding and enjoyable art form for enthusiasts and creators.
